Cane Parish citizens have raised multiple concerns, including structural and comfort issues. One citizen reported that a closet door fell off with just one touch. “The dorm is dirty and really hot,” they added, emphasizing the uncomfortable living conditions.
Sabine Parish: Unbearable Heat and Poor Water Quality

Talon Phiavong, a citizen, shared his ordeal of waking up hot and sweaty, leading to itchiness and a poor first night experience. Pearl Parish: Unsanitary Conditions and Insect Infestation
Pearl Parish Citizen Trey described the dorm as nasty, with an issue of having to manually flush the toilet by opening the tank section. Additionally, it has been stated that there is a hole under the door allowing insects to enter, and the bathtub is dirty. “The conditions are simply unacceptable,” Trey remarked.
Bogafalaya Parish: Overwhelming Stench
The predominant complaint from Bogafalaya Parish Citizens was the overwhelming stench in the dormitory. “It just stinks,” many residents commented, highlighting the pervasive and unpleasant odor.
Atchafalaya Parish: Construction Debris and Malfunctioning Facilities
Atchafalaya Parish resident Barrett Lebon reported finding drywall powder everywhere in the room. “The dorm stunk, the shower wouldn’t turn off, and it was extremely hot. The beds were extra uncomfortable, and the blinds were see-through,” he stated, painting a picture of discomfort and disrepair.
These reports from various parishes highlight a series of widespread issues within the dormitory, from hygiene and structural problems to uncomfortable living conditions and poor maintenance. Citizens are calling for immediate action to address these problems and improve their living environment.
